ZU Students join World Health Day

DUBAI – Zayed University’s Health Club organized an event on Thursday, April 16, to celebrate the World health Day and express the definition of healthy lifestyle in the UAE society.

Participants including Dubai Health Authority, General Department of Anti-Narcotics of Dubai Police, the Body Shop, Tadawee, Health Factory, the Right Bite, Edible Arrangements, and My 30 Minutes were privileged to contribute to the event.

Khawla Aqil Merza, a Civilian at the General Department of Anti-Narcotics of Dubai Police, showed students sample of drugs such as cigars, tramadol, cocaine, and many more. She also explained Dubai Police’s efforts to eliminate drug abuse in schools and result in a society free of drugs.

The Dubai Health Authority offered free checkups on the sugar level and blood pressure to detect genetic diseases. Also, Tadawee Medical Center offered dental checkup that students found interesting.

Divia, a nutritionist at the Health Factory, explained that the center provide healthy meals and dieting programs according to your suitable medical situation and deliver it to your home.

Similarly, Vanessa, a Sales Executive at the Right Bite, described how the center recognizes nutrition and provides catering services advising personalized meal programs that help individuals maintain their health and diet. Several programs are focused on the individual, new mothers, athletes or children.

Jemima Steinhart, the Founder-Owner of 30 Minutes, shared that the center offers personal fitness training from Germany that depends on electric muscle stimulation (EMS). EMS training is a full body training exercise using impulse current. It is useful for developing body strength, muscle development and weight loss.

The event directed students to achieve a healthier lifestyle with help from health or training centers.
