DUBAI – The First Annual Educational Conference brought together students, alumni and researchers in the field of education to share their knowledge. The conference took place on Feb. 28 and March 1 on Zayed University’s Dubai campus.

Even though this was the First Educational Conference held at ZU, highly esteemed guests were in attendance. According to the Conference Organization Committee, “We have stakeholders from the Ministry of Education, the minster H.E. Hussain Al Hammadi and Kareema Al Mazroui and Dr. Henri as keynotes.”

The conference included a variety of sessions from presentations to expert panels and professional workshops. The open environment of such a conference allowed for the flow of knowledge and ideas. Anyone could pop into any workshop and learn about something they are interested in and network with the attendees after each session.

“The COE-Conference will further establish Zayed University’s position as a leader in and advocator of innovative and best practices,” according to the Conference Organizing Committee.

The event could not have functioned without the help of the volunteers that took part. Due to the efforts of Yalstna Club, which is under the College of Education, they managed to recruit and train volunteers in time for this event.

As for the volunteering team, it was a big achievement to simultaneously manage nine new workshops every half hour. That is why the College of Education called for volunteers across all colleges to help out in registration, workshop management, and other facilities.

The organization, the diverse presenters, and their respective research topics made the event a success. Overall, it fostered curiosity, the interchange of knowledge, and most importantly, evoked inspiration.
