Dubai Police introduces ‘Social Media Pros and Cons’ campaign for youth

DUBAI — Dubai Police held a press conference on “Social Media Pros and Cons” Campaign in the Dubai Police Officers Sports Social and Cultural Club on Feb. 23, 2016. The conference was to introduce the two-week long campaign, and to answer journalists’ questions.

The conference activities included a question session, a play by Al Nokhba School students and announcing the winning videos of the social media pros and cons contest on Instagram from Al Falah University in Dubai.

The conference main speakers were Col. Dr Jasim Khalil Mirza, Head of the Security Awareness Department at Dubai Police, Major General Mohammad Saad Al Sharif, Assistant Commander for Administration Affairs and Dr. Sameer El Barghouthi is the founding Vice President of Academic Affairs at Al Falah University in Dubai.

“The main goal of the conference is to highlight the pros and cons of social media and to increase awareness in the society, by holding different campaigns in different places and distributing printouts. However, this campaign will in-cooperate with Dubai Police awareness partners, The Juvenile Association, Etihad Newspaper and the General Authority of Youth & Sports Welfare,” said Major General Mohammad Saad Al Sharif.
