DUBAI — Zayed University’s Peer Health Educators and Health Promotion Office begin distributing food packages today. This distribution will continue until the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The charity campaign involves delivering food packages to 62 of the university’s workers.

The food will be delivered directly to Al Manama, Ajman, the area of the university’s workers’ residence, and a volunteer will be in charge of distributing the food packages.

This charity event is an annual event which started three years ago and is organized by Zayed University Dubai’s campus and was initiated by Zayed University’s faculty and has been ongoing since then.

This year, the event was organized by Shooq Albedwawi, the Health Promotion Assistant at the Health Promotion Office, and Zayed University Dubai Campus’ Peer Health Educators. The expenses of the campaign are covered by the profit earned from previous campaigns.

The food packages will be provided to each worker by a restaurant. The meal consists of rice, meat, chicken or fish, dates, and juice or laban.

The purpose of this yearly charity event is to provide ready and accessible Iftar meals for the workers, as fasting will be hard on them, especially in the summer. This makes the process of obtaining an Iftar meal easier for them.
