DUBAI — The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) had their 11th Middle East Conference on Feb. 24 and 25, 2016, in the InterContinental hotel in Dubai. The conference invited numerous publishing executives and newspapers from around the world. The event offered opportunities to discover best practices and ideas in news publishing.
This year, WAN-IFRA hosted many important speakers and guests in the publishing field, including His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre; Member of the Sharjah Executive Council, UAE.
Conference speakers:
- Saleh Al-Humaidan, Chairman of the WAN-IFRA Middle East Committee, KSA, managing director of Al Yaum Media House, the leading publishing house in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia
- Michael Golden, Vice Chairman, The New York Times Company, and former Publisher of the IHT, US, Mechthild Schimpf, Director Middle East WAN-IFRA, Germany
- Thomas Jacob, Chief Operating Officer, WAN-IFRA, Germany
