ABU DHABI – Our favorite fantasy series is back for a brand-new eighth story scheduled to premier in July of 2016 at the Palace Theatre in London.

The announcement was first made by author J.K. Rowling herself on her website Pottermore.com in a blog post on 23 October 2015. “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I & II” will be a staged performance in collaboration with writer Jack Thorne and Tony award-winning director John Tiffany. Tickets are already on sale.

Although the premier is almost six months away, Ms. Rowling has been constantly teasing her anxious fans through Twitter posts and a synopsis posted on her blog implying that this new story will mainly be about Harry Potter’s youngest son, Albus Severus, and his struggle of surviving in the magic world with an unwanted family legacy weighing on his shoulders.

An entire online community has been sharing ideas and thoughts on this new project via social media. Being a huge Harry Potter fan myself, this ecstatic news has got me psyched about more Harry Potter material.

Since the seventh and final book has been published and the eighth movie has been released, the Harry Potter legacy has been kept alive through fan-fiction, which I enjoy reading online.

Despite Ms. Rowling wrapping up the series years ago, her fans haven’t stopped celebrating all that has come from the series, from film memorabilia – which I personally collect – to merchandise to an entire theme park dedicated to Harry Potter.

The five-year gap since the final movie was released hasn’t affected the high anticipation for the opening of the second theme park in Los Angeles in the American state of California in the spring of 2016.

As someone who often travels to the United States, I certainly will be visiting multiple times, along with millions of other devotees.

The Harry Potter fandom is continuously growing, ranging from young children to senior citizens who all share love for the story about a “boy who lived.”

Now we await the new play. Summer cannot come soon enough.
