DUBAI – Hamad Al Shamsi is an Emirati entrepreneur who has a great knowledge of the electronic world and has a voice in Emirati society. He built his own app and opened his electronic stores, both of these inventions are named after his name as “7md store”. He offers things related to technology and electronic products.

Hamad Al Shamsi was interviewed by students in Zayed University’s ISC451 Integrated Strategic Communication Campaign.

Al Shamsi says that the rapid increase in electronic waste is due to the short life of electronic devices and their high demand in our society. He said that the most common devices customers throw away are televisions, phones, and portable computers.

Al Shamsi says he believes that disposing of e-waste incorrectly affects our air, soil, and water as well as affecting biological development.

“In our stores, we offer battery and electronic devices recycling, ”Al Shamsi says. “Also, when performing factory resets most companies corrupt user’s data so everything on it is erased.”

Al Shamsi says he is looking forward to the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28.

“I am interested in the 28th conference to protect the future of the earth, and I advise everyone to visit this exhibition,” Al Shamsi says.

Al Shamsi says he encourages the government to apply strict regulations but says it is important to raise awareness so that people understand the dangerous effects of not disposing of e-waste correctly.
