    the films was great

  3. mariamjs83 says:

i liked how they started the video by mentioning the name of the festival and when it started and ended. it is a good idea for creative students who want to show their talents. i liked how each student mentioned the movies they watched and what they liked about them. this festival shows that the students behind these movies put an effort to do these movies. i like the idea of the university having a film festival and how they are trying to help creative students show their work. In my opinion, I think that “Gaby” get the best acting as it was a story about a father and his son who had a strong relationship.

  4. The idea behind zumeff is great where it improved by the years and it a great way to find out the talented people and looked at movies in different point of views according to the audience reactions.

  5. Asmaa Abdulrahman says:

i watched the last movie which is “neam al khadrawat” it was very good, comedian and simple in the same time that got me attracted to it.
but the things i didn’t like that the quality was a little bit under the required level.
the best music i didn’t pay attention to that but the soundtrack were good in the movie.
i hope ZUMEFF become bigger every year and more attractive as always.

  6. I truly enjoyed ZUMEFF this year. As part of the organizing team, I was fortunate enough to have the chance to watch and evaluate all the submitted movies. My favorite movie was “Dear Home With Love” by Aysha Alzaabi. The film talks about a Nine-year-old called Fatima, who wants to return to her old house as she misses her friend Sara, who used to live next door. She then meets Khalid, an 11-year-old, who accompanies her in her journey to go back to her old house. She then realize that home is where love and family is, and that a friend is the one who stay by her side, supporting her when nobody else dose, just like Khalid. What I really loved abut this film is how great actresses were despite the fact that they are young children. The ending has also touched me to the point of tearing up, reminding me of my childhood memories when my family used to move from house to house.

  7. Iman Khalied Al alawi says:

I saw two films, both of them are incredible. The first movie I saw, the Dark Chocolate. It was interesting. The story was amazing. The actress did a perfect job. The film message that you have to change your bad habit and go forward.
The second movie I saw, Baa Maa. I think it is humor movie. It was very short, about 8 minutes. It has a very big message. We need this types of films to change how some people think. The film message talked about, you have to break the lines between each other. There is no difference between Arab or Foreign, black or white, or even nationalities. It was a perfect short film.

  8. mouzaalqadi says:

The movie that I liked called Ayny. It’s an animation movie that was produced by Ahmad Saleh, from Academy Of Media Art Cologne, Germany/Palestine. This movie won the prize, and it was the best of the best movie.

At the beginning of the movie, I felt bored because of the sounds affect and the story was not clear. However, after five minutes I understood the story. Then I liked it because it has a big message, which was to not give up and achieve your dreams even if you lost your ability. Moreover, I liked Ahmad’s voice while he was talking. He was so calm.

  9. shaikha alhosani says:

I like watching “Al Johara” film, although the story is inspired by the famous Cinderella story but the vision of the Gulf in the film was beautiful. I really enjoy watching it.

Unfinished Tales: The Alchemist was great animation. I hope I find that machine to see through it what people exactly see and remember. I like the idea of the film which is a late alchemist exposes his estranged son to the truth surrounding his tumultuous life and the dark magic used to power a gold making machine.

I’ve been waiting for Aisha Al Zaabi film so long, because she always post on her social media accounts some backstage photos and videos. Since she work at TwoFour54 I had no doubt that this film will be professionally taken. In addition, the girl in the film perfectly acted, you can tell that they trained her well. I’m so happy that she’s from the finalist.

ZUMEFF film evaluation – Mariam Waleed 201415160

I was the organizer of the event, so I watched almost all of the movies. The movies that have caught my eyes while working on the event were “The Choice” by Eman Al Sayed and “Ayny” by Ahmed Saleh. The other movies were great too. “The Choice” is by a recent Zayed University graduate, whom came with the idea of creating a movie that involves a real-live situation in the UAE. The movie was well put together and the audio of the movie was great. The actors in the movie played their roles very well. The movie had drama scenes with the a touch of comedy sense. The other movie which was “Ayny” by Ahmed Saleh whom has two movies submitted and presented in the event. The other movies was MAA BAA. Both of the movies are animation. “Ayny”, which mean ‘My Second Eye’ talks about two brothers whom lived a happy life with their family. They loved playing the ‘Oud’. They played oud that was made from fragments. One day they saw an Oud that was expensive. They decided to leave their village and look for something to sell it and get the money. Their mother was sad because she said not everything you see is what you see. Once they left, they found some metal piece on the floor. They decided to pick it up and sell it. Little did they know that it’s a bomb trap from the wars. The bomb exploded which resulted in cutting one arm and one eye from each brother. In the end of the movie, they were playing the Oud that they dreamed of using the arms left from them. The movie was very emotional and great.

  14. Madia Ahmed says:

The movie that I enjoyed the most was my dear home with love by Aisha al Zaabi. I really liked the story behind it and how the kids were acting, I also liked how she filmed the movie and the camera angles. The movie had a great story and at the same it was kind of funny.

  15. Naeema says:

I think the best movie is ” Al Johara ” because they show us the similar movie of Cinderella story in real acting and is a very attract movie and also it an interesting movie I had saw . other movie which cannot forget about the “For you, Somalia” I saw so many picture of the people their and their suffering without eat or have enough cloth to wear and I never forget these shoot. There are many young and teenager talent I enjoy to watch them and I hope for them to become professional in the future . However,Other films need to work hard to be better and it should be a connection between the message to let the audience or viewers understand more .

  16. Budoor Samir says:

The best movie that I see is the one that got away by Wafaa Arich. And has the best music which is related to the story and the music make the people integrate into the movie.

  17. Mouza Rashed AlMansouri says:

ZUMEFF take place at 30 April to 01 May 2017 in Zayed University. It is a great opportunity for those who are creative or those who want to show their talent in creating short videos. I was really happy to see that many people come from different places to show their movies and I really like the sense of being as on family.
I am glad to see number of Zu students being a part of ZUMEFF.
What I really enjoy is The Alchemist it was a wonderful animation that was really successful to show all the moments and the story of that was effective to reach people mind.
The other film that I like was a documentary thats made by my childhood friend which is UAE Falconry it shows the life of people who have falcons and who they use to live with them. It wasn’t that much good, but it might be nice for those who are interested in those things.
Aisha Alzaabi had a nice film that called My Dear Home With Love,I really liked the film and it been filmed.Even the quality of everything she had was great and having children in the film will keep it really simple and nice.
In addition, I like that one of the actors had have two film but both are way different than each other. I was really surprised that he have done both films. I was amazed that both stories are different than the other. He is really creative to work for different stories with different thoughts for both.
The festival was organised inside and outside. The films that was shown are really amazing I would like to see them over and over again. Characters, musics, lightning and every single thing that was carefully chosen in the films was really nice.

The story of the movie start with a young girl in the scene and her mother getting diagnosis behind the certain from what I have seen I have notice that the mother can only talk in her mother language while her daughter can talk both languages English and Kurdish. The Dr had hard time to explain to the mother the situation and how she sick she was. So, the mother called her daughter out loud to come and translate to her wat the doctor is saying. The news of her mother having breast cancer is not easy to translate it was a very shocking news. She couldn’t tell her mom about her illness. The mother asked her daughter but the she couldn’t response to her. She even tolled someone ells to translate for her. The movie was full of emotion. The young girl was quit and couldn’t tell the mother about her illness.

I couldn’t imagine how I can be the person to tell my beloved person that they have a series illness.

The festival was organized and I had a lot of educational movie to watch and to learn from.

Thank you ZUMEFF for a one of the best experience of movies.

  22. Ayesha Abdulla Omar says:

I loved this year’s ZUMEFF. It allows us to see extremely creative and thought-provoking films done by inspiring filmmakers, and it allows us to support them and their work. I enjoyed most of the films that I watched. Although some of them weren’t to my taste, they still showed great effort. Of course with time, some of these filmmakers will be able to develop and improve their skills and they’ll be able to pick up on what works for a short film and what doesn’t quite in terms of script and general production. Overall, the films I watched were enjoyable, well made, and had a good story and motivation behind it. I can’t wait to attend next year’s ZUMEFF and see what those filmmakers have to offer.

  23. Salama Al Mazrouei says:

ZUMEFF 2017 hace screened so many successful movies that are made by talented film makers all around the Middle East. The choice by the filmmaker Eman Al Sayed was one of the finalist short moves. This movie talks about the reality of the marriage between a local and a non-local as well as the traditions and culture of the countries. The short film was produced successfully from the beginning till the end and the narrative was written well.

  25. Meera Al Hammadi says:

I didn’t get the chance to go to ZUMEFF at the fist day but I attended the second day. Overall all the movies were so amazing each one of them has something unique that make it stand out I can see each year the movies that screened in the ZUMEFF are developing. I really liked the movie “Face the Music” by Saeed Rachid. It delivered a new idea that people should love and treat each other based on their inner side not based on how they look. The sound and the editing were so good I can say that they worked really hard on it. I’m looking forward to ZUMEFF next year.

  26. Asma Humaid says:

In my opinion, I think that “Gaby” get the best acting, “Dark Chocolate” best cinematography, while “UAE falconry” is not so good. Also, “After Dalma” is thought-provoking film in a positive way, by being faithful to what God has chosen for us and to be brave in fighting calamities as much as possible.

  27. fatima says:

The best movie was “aljohara” becouse it has a very creative way to mix between fancy and realty with a little bit of the Arab gulf traditions, and never forget Photography and directing it was amazing. this quatrain movie was a big progress for them.

  28. Reem Alhammadi says:

The films show really good effort and ideas of the writers and editors, I viewed 5 films and the one I really liked was The Choice.

I just want to say that for the audience, some of them wasn’t very interesting as it doesn’t suit the Emirati culture. I love the idea of film festival and how it try to encourage young filmmaker but I though it wasn’t advertised well because not many people know that it’s open for public and very few came.

  29. Nouf says:

The nam of the movie (shhocolath daknh ) dark chiclate

The movie talks about a lady who lost her love of life and completed her life alone and sad and she wanted to have salary so she started to sale chocolates and they only buy it at funeral. After that she got sick so she needed to make surgery but she will lose her memory so she started to feel life and taking videos of her neighborhood and she relaize that her choclate is not delicious .In the end she made the surgery and started a new life .

You should live your life dont look the past .
I realy liked the movie the story was so emaotional and the shooting of the film was professional.

  30. of what i saw today, the movies are really interesting and different that last year. Gaby, lightless and veganize it were from the fist movies screened that i actually enjoyed so much.

gaby was a touching story about a father and his relationship with his son in its extreme.

lightless is my favorite, it is about Asma, university student from Qatar who went for a journey to see the milky way.

veganize it is really funny movie about a Sudanese man who became vegan. from his family to the community , they did not take it as simple as someone changing his diet and that what makes it funny.

    ZUMEFF films evaluation

Written by: Shamma Musabah Alzaabi -201405388

ZUMEFF is a great opportunity for all university students to show up their work and spread their ideas. Having this incredible event in our university (Zayed University) is a wonderful chance for us to watch those creations. I watched some of the films, and the one that catches my eyes was a film by Aisha Alzaabi named (My Dear Home With Love). I really liked the way she filmed it and the quality of the lightings she chose. In addition, the way she chose to take the shots was attractive and the variety of them helped in the final finishing of the film. Moreover, the story of the film was very catchy and the girl in the film was acting in a way that let us live the moment with her. However, of course, anything has a negative side and for this film, I think that there were some long scenes that let us be unfocused, then when the next scene begin we continue to enjoy the film. Overall, I really enjoyed this experience.

  32. scorpionten says:

“My Dear Home With Love” I like this movie it’s by Aisha AlZaabi from UAE. Although the actors are children, they performed their roles very beautifully. The viewer was also photographed in a professional way.

  33. Shaima Alhosani says:

I think that most of the films are great, want to deliver main messages to the audience and promote a brand or company. In point of view, some films have perfect filming shots and there is an accuracy of shots as well as the motors of the camera. I am so proud of this film festival because it plays an important role in supporting young filmmakers in the Middle East. There are many young talents and I believe that this festival can encourage them to become professionals in the future. However, I notice that few some other films had no connection between the message that want to deliver and the scene or the way actors act to convey the audience or viewers.
